What's an Alpaca?

1. An Alpaca is NOT an Emu (apparently a common misconception)

2. An Alpaca IS a member of the camel (camelid) family which also includes Llamas.  Alpacas closely resemble a Llama but generally only weigh between 150-200 pounds.  There are 2 kinds of Alpacas: Huacaya and Suri.  Both varieties are docile, intelligent, curious, and easy to care for.  Alpacas are shorn for their soft, warm fiber which can be used to make a wide array of products including sweaters, hats, socks, gloves, and scarves.  Alpacas come in 22 natural colors.
